Open Studio at M Art Gallery and Design Studio

The Annual SF ArtSpan was an exciting event. It was a massive city-wide event that took place and still is taking place until the first weekend of November. The newly opened M Art Gallery and Design Studio experienced its first attempt to attract people and the community to attend its opening. Located primarily at an improving corridor of the Bayview district, the M Art Gallery and Design Studio will be sharing to the local community a diverse and contemporary feel of art. It will attempt to bring innovative and provocative cornucopia of Fine and Visual Art. The beginning experience for the gallery/studio will be slow but it will continue to create a community and followings. Although, the gallery/studio was located at the outskirts of downtown San Francisco, away from the mainstream of action, the attempt to get the community to attend will take time.

Here were some pictures of some of the art displayed in the gallery/studio.

Passage Art Gallery 651

This show was a group show held in one of Contra Costa County's Supervisor's building located in downtown Martinez. It represented the diversity of art and art styles developed by local Bay Area artists.

In this show I submitted in six (6) large painting pieces in the sizes of four feet and above. The medium I used to paint with was oil. These paintings were a small body of work from the series called 'Diffusion'. Diffusion series dealt with the idea of  automatic painting or gestalt. Gestalt deals with the idea of not utilizing the logical mind to create but to let a flow or automatic movement/thought take place. It takes practice to make this happen because automatic technique or gestalt is difficult to employ and it takes time to grasp.

Barber Lounge Art Reception

Body and Soul

The artist reception for the Body and Soul show was a tremendous success. A lot of people came to the show and enjoyed the visuals and a lot of free drinks. The show was held in a very luxurious scale style salon on a second floor in downtown San Francisco. The ambiance was dramatic, music was popping and the visuals was reminiscent of a New York-like scene. I thank the curator of the show and host/proprietors of the salon.

(*Below are the pieces selected for the show and some demographics.)
